Refund policy

How CheapServ refunds work: unused balance within 14 days of a top-up, paid in the same coin minus network fees; cancellations and what is not refunded.

Effective 1 September 2026

CheapServ is prepaid and crypto-only, so refunds work differently from card-based hosting: there are no chargebacks, and money goes back to a wallet rather than to a card. This policy explains what is refundable, what is not, and how to ask. It forms part of the Terms of service.

1. In short

  • Unused prepaid balance is refundable within 14 days of the top-up that funded it, minus network fees.
  • Refunds are sent to your wallet in the same cryptocurrency you paid with, at the USD rate at the time of the refund.
  • A cancelled server stays online until the end of its paid month. The running month is not refunded pro rata.
  • When you upgrade or move a server within CheapServ, the unused days of the old server are credited to your balance.
  • Your balance never expires, and there is no fee for keeping it.

2. Refund of unused balance

  1. You can request a refund of any part of your balance that has not been spent, as long as the request is made within 14 days of the top-up that funded it. Balance older than 14 days stays on the account and can be spent on any service; it does not expire.
  2. The refund is sent in the cryptocurrency of the original top-up (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, or Tether on the same network you used), to a wallet address you give us in the ticket. We cannot refund to a card, a bank account or a different coin.
  3. The amount is the USD value of the refunded balance converted at the market rate at the time we send it, minus the network fee of the transaction. Exchange rate movements between your payment and the refund are not compensated in either direction.
  4. Service credits granted under the Service level agreement, affiliate commissions and promotional credits are not refundable; they can only be spent on CheapServ services.
Example

You top up $100 in USDT on 1 March, order a VPS-4 at $6.99 on the same day, and ask for a refund on 10 March. $93.01 is unused and within 14 days, so we send USDT worth $93.01 at the rate of the day, minus the network fee, to the TRC-20 or ERC-20 address you provide.

3. Servers and renewals

  • Cancellation. Cancel from the dashboard at any time. The server stays online until the end of the month you paid for, then is deleted. The remaining days of that month are not refunded.
  • Renewals. A renewal is charged to your balance on the renewal date. If you cancel before that date, nothing is charged. If a renewal was charged and you cancel on the same day, before using the server, open a ticket: we credit the renewal back to your balance.
  • Upgrades and migrations. When you upgrade a VPS in place, the price difference is taken pro rata. When you replace a server with a new one, in the same location or another, cancel the old one after moving your data and the unused days are credited to your balance.
  • Custom dedicated builds are ordered and assembled for you. Once assembly has started they cannot be cancelled for a refund; the month you paid is honoured in full.
  • Servers we cannot deliver. If a plan you paid for cannot be provisioned, for example because stock ran out between the order and the payment, the full amount is credited back to your balance immediately and is refundable under section 2 regardless of the 14-day rule.

4. How to request a refund

  1. Open a ticket at /support with the subject "Refund". Say how much you want refunded and give the wallet address, on the same coin and network as your top-up.
  2. For security, the ticket must come from the account itself, signed in. We may ask you to confirm the address from the e-mail on the account before sending. We never ask for identity documents.
  3. Refunds are sent within 5 business days of confirmation. The ticket receives the transaction ID once it is broadcast.
Check the network

USDT refunds go to the network you paid on, TRC-20 or ERC-20. A wrong network in the address you give us cannot be reversed once the transaction is sent. Double-check before confirming.

5. What is not refundable

  • The used part of a month on any server, including a server you stop using before its month ends.
  • Balance spent on services that were delivered, even if you did not use them.
  • Balance on an account terminated for a breach of the Acceptable use policy, to the extent it relates to the services involved in the breach. Balance unrelated to the breach is refunded.
  • Service credits, affiliate commissions and promotional credits.
  • Network fees, and the difference caused by exchange-rate movements.

6. Underpayments, overpayments and late payments

  • Underpayment. If the amount received is lower than the deposit amount shown, the top-up stays underpaid and waits for the remainder: send the missing amount to the same address to complete it, or ask for a refund of what arrived under section 2.
  • Overpayment. Any surplus is credited to your balance at the amount received.
  • Late payment. The crypto amount on a deposit page is locked for 30 minutes. A payment that arrives later is credited to your balance at the USD value at the time it is received, which may differ from the amount shown.
  • Wrong coin or network. Payments sent on a network we do not monitor for that address may be unrecoverable. Open a ticket with the transaction ID as soon as possible; we recover what can be recovered, and only what we can actually access.

7. Disputes

Cryptocurrency payments cannot be charged back, so a disagreement about a charge or a refund is handled through /support. Describe what happened and quote the top-up references. We answer within 2 business days with the transaction history as we see it. If we made a mistake, we correct it and credit your balance; if you still disagree, you can escalate the ticket and a second person reviews it.

8. Changes to this policy

The effective date at the top of the page is updated with every revision. Changes that reduce a refund right are announced on /status and by e-mail at least 14 days before they apply, and top-ups made before that date keep the rules in force when they were made.

9. Contact

Refund requests and questions: /support or [email protected]. Billing basics, including how deposits and the balance work, are explained at /docs/billing.
