Frankfurt am Main is the largest internet exchange city in Europe, and FRA1 sits on it: DE-CIX peering plus three transit carriers behind two 100 Gbps uplinks. For users in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic it is the obvious pick; for the Middle East and much of Africa it is usually the lowest-latency European site too.
It is also our GPU hub for Europe, with RTX and Hopper cards racked next to the dedicated inventory, and the home of the Storage VPS line. If you are not sure which site to choose, the latency guide gives a simple rule; if you want a second site for redundancy, Amsterdam is 3 ms away on a separate facility and exchange.

Is Frankfurt a good location for users in Eastern Europe and the Middle East?
Yes. Frankfurt is typically the lowest-latency European site for Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Israel and the Gulf, thanks to DE-CIX and the carriers that land there. Warsaw is about 22 ms away.
Which products are available in Frankfurt?

Which exchanges and carriers does FRA1 use?
DE-CIX Frankfurt for peering, with Cogent, Telia and Lumen as transit. Each site has at least three upstreams so no single carrier can take it offline.
Can servers in Frankfurt talk to each other privately?
Yes. Servers in the same location can share a free private VLAN, and floating IPs can be moved between them. Cross-site traffic uses the public network.
